for individuals
The Skinny on Fat seminars are offered at private and public locations such as health clubs, public libraries, churches, and other venues. The seminar produces cosmetic weight loss and reduces obesity complications thereby allowing for discontinuation of medication.
for private businesses and public agencies
Private Businesses and Public Agencies can increase workforce activity by decreasing time lost due to illness — much of which is due to the complications of obesity. We can establish on- or off-site seminars on a one-time or rotating basis. The goal of The Skinny on Fat seminar is to educate and inspire employees by debunking myths and providing little-known truths about cosmetic weight loss, obesity and its complications.
for medical professionals
In the past, medical offices didn’t have the appropriate tools to treat, manage or bill for the treatment of obesity. However, in August 2013, Congress passed H.R. 2415: Treat and Reduce Obesity Act of 2013 which allows for appropriate billing for the treatment of obesity.
The Skinny on Fat seminar can be used by in-house programs (such as nutrition, exercise, health care, etc.) and other health-care providers to establish an innovative, leading-edge, obesity treatment program:
• phase one •
Discuss the initial patient work-up and establish the five A’s of treatment.
- Patient education (This may be done individually or in a group setting.)
- Patient counseling
- Exercise therapy
- Maintenance, relapse prevention and treatment counseling
- Medications and other therapeutic modalities
• phase two •
Discuss ongoing patient management and how to monitor effectiveness of treatment.
- Establish intervals between visits for individual patients based on parameters, such as ketogenic diet or medication use, etc. At least 20 visits per year are recommended.
- Ongoing services would include, but not limited to, the following:
– Measure weight progress, pulse, and blood pressure.
– Evaluate and monitor medical progress of the complications of obesity to prevent disease and relapse.
– Record any medical problems and side effects of treatment. - Laboratory Follow-up (as appropriate)
